MILL MOUNTAIN STAR DEDICATION CEREMONY
We are looking for a big crowd of Kiwanis members and the public to attend the Mill Mountain Star Dedication ceremony. We will be unveiling to the public the new plaque honoring the winner of this year's Kiwanis Star auction, Bower Heating and Air Conditioning. The Mayor and other dignitaries are expected. The press is invited. The dedication ceremony begins at 11:00am at the Star visitor platform. This is an excellent opportunity to invite a guest to see some of what makes our Club special.
KIWANIS OFFICER INSTALLATION
Join our Officer Installation dinner in Charter Hall from 5:30-7:50pm. We will thank our outgoing Officers and Directors, install our new Officers and Directors, recognize the efforts of our continuing directors, listen to remarks from our outgoing President, and listen to remarks from our incoming President.
MAYOR CANDIDATES FORUM
The Kiwanis Club of Roanoke and the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce are inviting the public to the Roanoke Mayor Candidates Forum from 5:00-7:30pm October 1. This event is being held in Charter Hall on the third floor of the City Market Building at 32 Market Square. The media will be invited. Lite refreshments will be provided. Admission is free. Registration is required in advance. No walk-ins. Candidates Joe Cobb, David Bowers, and Stephanie Moon Reynolds will respond to previously prepared questions; WSLS 10 News Anchor John Carlin will moderate the event. The event will not include an audience Q&A session. BRIDGE BUILDERS – Salem Red Sox
Bridge Builders event. Bridge Builders is a group comprised of members of the Shiloh Baptist Church and the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke. Socialize at the Salem Red Sox game on June 21. Tickets are $28.00 each. Price includes a reserved seat and a picnic buffet featuring hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, and Pepsi products. Picnic from 6:15-8:15pm. First pitch at 7:05pm. Reservations are due by June 17.
FUN SOCIAL – Vineyard
Fun Committee event. Socialize at Stony Brook Vineyards on July 27 from 1-4pm. Reservations required. $15 per person includes BBQ lunch with sides, Kiwanis cookies, and live music from Mark Folks. Wine will be available to purchase. Bring your own chair. This will be a good time to enjoy each other's company. This will also be a good time to invite a non-Kiwanian so they can see the fun side of our Club.
