PRAYER BREAKFAST
Meet at the Kazim Shriners of Roanoke to take part in a National Day of Prayer breakfast, 627 Campbell Ave. Breakfast buffet opens at 6:45am. Program runs from 7:15-8:30am. Dr. Lee Learman, Dean of the VA Tech Carilion Medical Schoo, is the keynote speaker addressing the theme of Shine the Light in Dark Places. Tickets are being sold to attendees only; donations can be made separately. Tickets cost $8.00 per person.
SOCIAL – Mill Mountain Theater
Join us for a social evening at the Mill Mountain Theater. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served on the second floor of the Center In The Square building just outside of the Harrison Museum beginning at 6:00pm. Escape to Margaritaville will be performed in the Trinkle MainStage theater at 7:30pm. The cost is $50.00 for Kiwanis Club members, family, friends, and guests. The Kiwanis Book Club will meet at the South County Library on January 31 from 5:30-6:30pm.
CLEAN UP DAY
Meet at 10:00 on January 15th (Martin Luther King day) at the Envision Center located at 2607 Salem Turnpike (a short walk to the Kiwanis Nature Park and the Horton's Branch watershed). We will use grabbers, trash bags, and vests provided by Clean Valley Council; will finish by 12:00 noon. This event is being held in partnership with the Envision Center (Roanoke Redevelopment Housing Authority), Shiloh Baptist Church, SERV, Clean Valley Council, our district's Key Clubs, and the Aktion Club. Invite a non-club member to join you.
