KIWANIS INTERCLUB – Golf and Dinner

On September 19, 2024, the Danville Kiwanis Club will host an Interclub for Kiwanians in our division. Members of our Kiwanis Club of Roanoke are encouraged to attend (many of us have had fun at these Interclub events in the past). Golf will be available at the Danville Golf Club at 12:30 p.m. At 5 p.m. or so, the golfers will leave the golf club and drive into town to the Danville Science Center on Craighead Street where at 5:30 p.m., the Science Center will host a Happy Hour of beer, wine, and nibblies. At 6:30 p.m., the attendees will walk twenty paces or so to the train station where a barbecue dinner will be served. The cost of everything, not including the golf, will be $20 per person. The Kiwanis Club of Roanoke and the Shiloh Baptist Church have partnered together to form the Bridge Builders of the Roanoke Valley. The public is invited to a concert at the Windsor Hills United Methodist Church from 6:00-7:30pm on August 24. Bishop Milton Hardy, The Family, and Henry Brickey Music Ministry will be featured. MILL MOUNTAIN STAR DEDICATION CEREMONY

We are looking for a big crowd of Kiwanis members and the public to attend the Mill Mountain Star Dedication ceremony. We will be unveiling to the public the new plaque honoring the winner of this year's Kiwanis Star auction, Bower Heating and Air Conditioning. The Mayor and other dignitaries are expected. The press is invited. The dedication ceremony begins at 11:00am at the Star visitor platform. This is an excellent opportunity to invite a guest to see some of what makes our Club special.

Join fellow Kiwanians as we participate in the Wasena Bridge Party on April 13 to promote our Kiwanis Club. Volunteer shifts will run from 3:00-5:30pm and 5:30-8:00pm. We will perform volunteer activities (such as alcohol ticket sales/ID check, beer pouring, perimeter security) and we will have a booth to promote our Club. This event is part of our Club's efforts to Outreach into our community.
