Meet at 9:00 on November 5th at Preston Park, 3137 Preston Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24012. Members of our Kiwanis Environment committee will join the Roanoke City Tree Stewards to plant 5 trees that have been purchased by our Club. Bring work gloves and wear sturdy shoes. Shovels, digging bars, soil amendment, mulch, tree supports, and trees will be provided.
Fun Committee event. Socialize and celebrate the season and our Kiwanis friendships. Heavy horderves. BYOB. Dancing with music. December 9 at the Townes of Hidden Valley club house, 4800 Laryn Lane, in Cave Spring. Beginning at 6:00pm. $18.00 per person.
Fun Committee event. Socialize at the El Rodeo on Electric Road on November 6 from 6-8pm. No cost is involved beyond what you order and pay for individually. This will be a good time to enjoy each other's company. Brings your kids and family members. This will also be a good time to invite a non-Kiwanian so they can see the fun side of our Club.
Kiwanis Outreach Opportunity on Saturday October 18th. Fall Festival at the Melrose Plaza. Check in at Melrose Library: 2502 Melrose Ave in Roanoke. Volunteers needed to work our Club's exhibit table from 9am to 2 pm. While at the festival, be sure to check out the Kiwanis Nature Park progress that recently has been made and check out all that Melrose Plaza now has to offer.
Fun Committee event. Socialize and enjoy time together at Explore Park; you can opt to hike or bike on the trails, stroll through the buildings, and enjoy the Fall colors. Afterwards, we will meet at 5:30pm for drinks in Brugh Tavern, followed at 6:00pm with dinner in their upstairs dining room. Afterwards, at 7:00pm, we can enjoy desert outside by the fire.
