]]> Our Environment committee is partnering with Clean Valley Council to celebrate Earth Day on April 18 from 10am – 3:00pm with a Kiwanis booth at the celebration event in historic Grandin Village. This is an exciting outreach activity to share information about our Club’s environmental efforts and our Nature Park. Larry the Logperch will be featured. Volunteers are being recruited for shifts to staff our booth.

This vibrant gathering is dedicated to promoting sustainability and building community connections. Featuring eco-conscious vendors, talented local artisans, diverse businesses, live entertainment, and engaging activities for children, the event inspires environmental stewardship and fosters a sense of togetherness. The 2025 Earth Day theme, “Come Together For Planet Earth” emphasizing the collective responsibility to transition to renewable energy sources and create a sustainable future.

]]> Our Kiwanis Nature Park committee and our Environment committee have secured an exhibit booth at the 2025 Virginia Environmental Education Conference being held February 10 at the Hotel Roanoke from 7:00am-5:00pm. This is an exciting outreach activity to share information about our Club’s environmental efforts and our Nature Park. Larry the Logperch will be featured. Volunteers are being recruited for shifts to staff our booth.

Classroom and community-based environmental educators from across the commonwealth will participate in professional development, networking, learning opportunities, field trips, and collaboration to celebrate and enrich environmental education in the Commonwealth of Virginia and beyond.
