Bocce Ball Tournament

Join us for a Bocce Ball Tournament with music, drinks, a “grab & go” lunch, and fun. We will also have a costume contest where the best dressed team wins (team member costumes do not have to match). No experience necessary. We will play on the Roanoke Catholic and Valley AFC Soccer Complex located at 1555 13th Street, SE. Registration required in advance or on-site: $50 for each team of two Kiwanis Club members, $25 for each team of two guests. Includes five games, two drinks, and lunch. This is an excellent opportunity to invite gusts to enjoy themselves and see some of what makes our Kiwanis Club so special.

BRIDGE BUILDERS BREAKFAST AND MUSIC

Join the Bridge Builders for breakfast and music on December 17 in the Fellowship Hall at Pilgrim Baptist Church located at 1415 Eighth Street, Roanoke, VA 24017. Meet/greet and coffee at 8:00am, breakfast begins at 9:00am, then music. The Bridge Builders is attempting to bring People of Faith together to Praise God, celebrate our differences, and get to know & understand each other better; it is a joint initiative between Windsor Hills United Methodist Church and Pilgrim Baptist Church. Children and grandchildren welcome.

Reservations by December 12 requested.

Tickets cost $15.00 per person; $5.00 for ages 18 and under.

WEST END HOLIDAY WRAPPING

Volunteer to help wrap gifts for children at the West End Center for Youth. This is a fun and popular way to get into the holiday spirit while helping others. We will meet at the SERVEPRO of Roanoke County located at 1301 Southside Drive in Salem to begin wrapping at 5:30pm on Tuesday December 13. Each wrapper will be given wrapping supplies and a bag of gifts to be wrapped or a specific young boy or girl. Gifts will be given to the children at the Holiday Party held during the December 12 Kiwanis Club meeting.

WEST END HOLIDAY SHOPPING

Volunteer to help shop for gifts for children at the West End Center for Youth. This is a fun and popular way to get into the holiday spirit while helping others. We will meet at the Clearbrook Walmart to begin shopping at 7:30am on Saturday December 10. Each shopper will be allocated a fixed amount of money to spend, and given a gift list personalized for a specific young boy or girl.

SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING

Every year we ring the bell to raise funds for the Salvation Army and we are looking for volunteers to help out every Friday during Dickens of a Christmas in downtown Roanoke. Shifts are December 2, 9, and 16 and last one hour starting at 5pm and ending at 9pm. We like to have two people per shift.

HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW KPAD TICKET SALES

Volunteer to work the KPAD ticket sales booth at the December 3-4 Holiday Craft and Vendor Show at the Berglund Center. The show runs from 9am-4pm on Saturday December 3, and from 10am-4pm on Sunday December 4. This is the first year that Kiwanis has partnered with the Holiday Craft and Vendor Show for advance ticket sales. We will also be partnering with them for the May 6 Spring Craft and Vendor Show occurring simultaneously with the May 6 KPAD. This partnership has the potential to result in a new KPAD ticket sales record.
