Tickets are $15.00 (Club members paying for lunches will receive $12.00 credit). We will be celebrating at the Carvin’s Cove picnic shelter (same location as last year’s installation). DESCRIPTION:Support worldwide refugees coming to Roanoke by running or walking in this Welcoming Week 2022 inaugural event on September 9. All proceeds go to support families currently being evacuated to Roanoke. \nThe kids’ 1K race will begin at 6:00PM\, and the 5K fun run/walk will start at 6:20PM. \nAll are welcome. Registrants before August 24 will receive T-shirts and finisher medals for all participants. The top runners in each age group will receive prizes as well. Kid-friendly activities include the kids’ 1K\, face painting\, and free books!  \nPacket pickup will be at the Main Library (706 S. Jefferson Street) from 12-5 on Thursday\, September 8th and Friday\, September 9th. DESCRIPTION:The annual grant proposal period is open from June 30 thru August 15. \nThe Kiwanis Club of Roanoke funds worthy projects in the Greater Roanoke Valley that support our mission of serving the children\, older adults\, and disadvantaged in our community. We also assist organizations that promote the environment and conserve our Valley’s natural resources. We give strong consideration to those projects where our Club’s members can get involved and invest their time\, talents\, and sweat equity. If you have a project that meets these criteria\, you are invited to apply for a grant. \nCheck our Grants website page for additional information.
