Our Kiwanis Club is signed up to provide volunteers to help with this event that will welcome athletes and families from across the country to experience the world-class mountain bike riding that Roanoke has to offer. The week features a Marathon race at Hollins University & Carvins Cove\, Short Track National Championships at Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke\, and Cross-Country National Championships at Explore Park. See link below for a video about the various competitions. \nUnlike the Blue Ridge Marathon\, Club volunteers will not be working one particular location such as an aid station. Instead\, you can choose whatever date works for you or get together with other Kiwanians to pick the same shift; various shift times are available. Several members are working as marshals Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at Elmwood Park. \nIf you have volunteered for the Marathon in the past\, your information is already in the system so just click the existing user link instead of filling out the personal information form. SUMMARY:SOCIAL - Mill Mountain Theater
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a social evening on December3 at the Mill Mountain Theater. Drinks and hors d’oeuvres will be served on the second floor of the Center In The Square building beginning at 6:00pm. The Wizard of Oz will be performed in the Trinkle Main Stage theater at 7:30pm. The cost is TBD for Kiwanis Club members\, family\, friends\, and guests. \nFollow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale\, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The legendary tale of Dorothy Gale’s journey from the plains of Kansas to the dazzling Land of Oz continues to enchant audiences with its wonder\, magic\, and timeless spirit. \nL. Frank Baum’s classic novel comes to life in The Wizard of Oz. This faithful adaptation by the Royal Shakespeare Company features all the most beloved songs and moments from the 1939 classic film\, brought to life onstage. Young Dorothy Gale is swept away by a tornado from her Kansas farm to the magical land of Oz. There\, she encounters a host of whimsical characters: good witches\, bad witches\, animals that talk\, scarecrows that walk\, and things magical to behold. To find her way home\, she must journey along the Yellow Brick Road to see the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard in Emerald City. Along the way\, she makes new friends\, but must also brave many dangers\, including the Wicked Witch of the West\, who will stop at nothing to get her hands on Dorothy’s magical ruby slippers. To make it home safely\, Dorothy must learn an important lesson: there’s no place like home.

DESCRIPTION:The Roanoke Region is hosting USA Cycling Mountain Bike Races during the week of July 12-19. The week features a Marathon race at Hollins University & Carvins Cove\, Short Track National Championships at Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke\, and Cross-Country National Championships at Explore Park. SUMMARY:Endurance Mountain Bike National Championships
DESCRIPTION:The Roanoke Region is hosting USA Cycling Mountain Bike Races during the week of July 12-19. Our Kiwanis Club is signed up to provide volunteers to help with this event that will welcome athletes and families from across the country to experience the world-class mountain bike riding that Roanoke has to offer. The week features a Marathon race at Hollins University & Carvins Cove\, Short Track National Championships at Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke\, and Cross-Country National Championships at Explore Park. See link below for a video about the various competitions. \nUnlike the Blue Ridge Marathon\, Club volunteers will not be working one particular location such as an aid station. Instead\, you can choose whatever date works for you or get together with other Kiwanians to pick the same shift; various shift times are available. Several members are working as marshals Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons at Elmwood Park. \nIf you have volunteered for the Marathon in the past\, your information is already in the system so just click the existing user link instead of filling out the personal information form. At the end of the process\, there is a dropdown menu where you can select the Kiwanis Club as your organization. Please do\, so the Club gets credit!
