Note\, and this is important\, we are scrubbing the Directory to eliminate ghost committee members (names previously listed on a committee for people who have not been actively participating). DESCRIPTION:Join us on for our annual event to install new Club officers and thank outgoing officers. This year’s event is a casual affair with grilled hot dogs\, hamburgers\, and sides. Tickets are $15.00 (Club members paying for lunches will receive $12.00 credit). We will be celebrating at the Carvin’s Cove picnic shelter (same location as last year’s installation). Please let John Montgomery know if plan to attend. The event begins at 5:30pm. No lunch meeting will be held this week. Please park in the lower lot; the upper lot adjacent to the pavilion is reserved for our less mobile Kiwanians.

SUMMARY:Run for Refugees
DESCRIPTION:Support worldwide refugees coming to Roanoke by running or walking in this Welcoming Week 2022 inaugural event on September 9. All proceeds go to support families currently being evacuated to Roanoke. \nThe kids’ 1K race will begin at 6:00PM\, and the 5K fun run/walk will start at 6:20PM. \nAll are welcome. Registrants before August 24 will receive T-shirts and finisher medals for all participants. The top runners in each age group will receive prizes as well. Kid-friendly activities include the kids’ 1K\, face painting\, and free books!  \nPacket pickup will be at the Main Library (706 S. Jefferson Street) from 12-5 on Thursday\, September 8th and Friday\, September 9th. You can also pick your packet up between 5:00 and 6:00 on Friday\, September 10th\, at Wasena Park. \nSee link for additional information and to register:   \n
