DESCRIPTION:Our Kiwanis Club is providing volunteers again this year to run a Blue Ridge Marathon Aid Station. We will hand out drinks and enthusiastically encourage runners. Our aid station is located part way up Roanoke Mountain. The shift starts at 6:45 and ends around 10:45 AM. You can drive up to the Aid Station by taking the Roanoke Mountain Parkway (on the right off the Blue Ridge Parkway just north of the intersection with Mill Mountain Parkway). Volunteers must be in place before the Blue Ridge Parkway closes at 7:00 AM. \nUse the link below to register. Scroll down to Aid Station-BRP Roanoke Mtn hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Roanoke. Check the box and click the Volunteer button. This will take you to the registration page. The Task Password is “kiwanis” all lower case. DESCRIPTION:Melissa Woodson\, Director of RAM House\, requests assistance with the final phase of preparing RAM House. \nStarting on Tuesday\, September 1st\, Kiwanians teams of volunteers will move canned goods by dolly from shipping containers to their permanent location in RAM House. \nWe need people to unpack the containers and people to take the items by dolly down the alley to the RAM House for final storage. We will do this for two hours per day\, starting Tuesday\, September 1st at 1 pm each day until we have emptied the two containers (anticipated completion date is September 11 or earlier). \nEven if you have only one afternoon to spare\, it will help RAM with their imminent launch. \nThis is just one way that Kiwanis makes a difference in Roanoke. Let’s support Melissa’s team and move mountains for our friends and neighbors.
