DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Roanoke County Communications Shop (enter at the Fleet Services entrance and turn Left. Drive past fuel pumps\, building is up the hill and to the Right) on August 5 from 9:00am-12:00pm and 1:00-4:00pm for Cuts with Cops. This incredible partnership with Roanoke County Police\, Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office\, and Carilion Clinics helps hundreds of local kids access free haircuts\, back-to-school supplies\, and free shoes. We will be stuffing backpacks with back-to-school supplies. \n

SUMMARY:MILL MOUNTAIN STAR DEDICATION CEREMONY
DESCRIPTION:We are looking for a big crowd of Kiwanis members and the public to attend the Mill Mountain Star Dedication ceremony. We will be unveiling to the public the new plaque honoring Susan Williams (the Executive Director of LOA who was attacked and killed in February 2025 while helping someone in need). \nSusan spent her life in service to those less fortunate\, the forgotten\, and the underserved. Her dedication to supporting the\nvulnerable population shone through her passionate advocacy for Meals on Wheels. She championed efforts to ensure that homebound individuals received nutritious meals and also a vital social connect. May Susan’s legacy inspire future generations  to lead with passion and serve their community with unwavering  dedication \nThe Mayor and other dignitaries are expected. The press is invited. The dedication ceremony begins at 10:00am at the Star visitor platform. \nThis is an excellent opportunity to invite a guest to see some of what makes our Club special.

Join us as we learn about native pollinators and the plants that feed them.
